Vourliotes sits high above the north coast, among the vineyards and within walking distance of the Panagia Vrondiani monastery. It is two degrees cooler than at sea level and it is the starting point for the finest paths on the island. That is exactly why we are not building a second beach house here, but a place to come down after a day of walking.
Small, deep and cold. Meant for sinking into after a hike, not for swimming lengths. Looking out over the valley.
A covered outdoor space that becomes the heart of the house: shade during the day, fire and light once it gets dark.
Local stone, wood that is allowed to weather, linen and wool. Warm and comfortable, without feeling smoothed over.
700 m, the trailsFor walkers
From Vourliotes you walk straight into the mountains. To the monastery, along the old paths to Manolates, or higher up Ampelos. In spring and autumn this is the finest part of Samos, and it is quiet as well.
As soon as there is more to see, it will appear here.
